David A. Wilson
Executive Director
David A. Wilson is currently the Executive Director of the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition/Energy Rated Homes of Utah (an IRS recognized 501c3 non-profit training and education organization).  As the Director for the Coalition, David has been involved in providing statewide residential energy auditor training, Home Energy Rater Training (HERS), building viable sustainability/resource management programs (read Green Building/Construction), as well as working with the state of Utah on residential and small commercial energy code compliance and training.  He has significant experience as a manager, administrator, trainer, and negotiator as well as extensive knowledge of local, state and federal government operations pertaining to energy issues and concerns.   He has both a B.A. and an M.A. from the Brigham Young University (BYU) in Organizational Communications and Consulting. He has thirty years experience in the housing industry with emphasis on energy conservation and efficiency for both new and existing homes. He has conducted numerous IECC training workshops involving hundreds of building officials, contractors, and design professionals throughout Utah and the Southwest. He has also developed numerous presentations and workshops detailing the interactive role of energy codes, the EPA Energy Star HOMES Program, and the HERS program(s). He has been actively involved in the RESNET (Residential Energy Services NETwork) organization since its inception and is a past president of this organization. He is a state certified Home Energy Auditor and Trainer.  He is a member of the National Home Builders Association (NAHB), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the Energy & Environmental Builders Association (EEBA), as well as the International Codes Council (ICC).
 
 

 

Cris Peterson
Energy Marketing/Home Energy Rating System Coordinator
Cris Petersonis currently employed as the Energy Marketing/Home Energy Rating Systems (HERS) Coordinator for the Coalition. He is responsible for the day-to-day activities related to HERS specifically in Utah. Cris actively performs home energy ratings, residential energy audits, and plan “take-offs” as well as training potential raters to perform field inspections using the blower door, digital manometer, and other testing equipment. He has assisted in the creation and maintenance of the Coalition HERS training materials, slide presentations, course outlines, and registration forms in compliance with the NASEO and RESNET training technical guidelines. He developed the current marketing plan to promote awareness of the Utah HERS to builders, lenders, sub-contractors, and home buyers. He has over ten years experience and has performed over 3,500 home energy ratings in Utah. Cris has a bachelors degree from the University of Utah.

 
 

 

Administrative Assistant.  Our Administrative Assistant provides information about Utah Energy and HERS, facilitates energy and ratings data, manages the website, blog and newsletter, handles mail and packages, filing, tracking, archiving and puts together the HERS packets.
