UECC Website Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition website and reviewing our privacy policy. Our privacy policy is clear: We will collect no personal information about you when you visit our website unless you choose to provide that information to us.

Here is how we handle information about your visit to our website:

Information Collected and Stored Automatically
If you do nothing during your visit but browse through the website, read pages, or download information, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit:

1. The Internet domain (for example, “xcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account, or “yourschool.edu” if you connect from a university’s domain) and IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our website
2. The type of browser and operating system used to access our site
3. The date and time you access our site
4. The pages you visit
5. If you linked to the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition website from another website, the address of that website

We use this information to help us make our site more useful to visitors — to learn about the number of visitors to our site and the types of technology our visitors use. We do not track or record information about individuals and their visits.

If You Send Us Personal Information
If you choose to provide us with personal information — as in an e-mail to a staff member, subscribing to our electronic newsletter, or by filling out a form with your personal information and submitting it to us through our website — we use that information to respond to your message and to help us get you the information you have requested, record any donation or membership, or register you for an event. We treat emails the same way we treat letters sent to the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition. We are required to maintain many documents for accounting purposes (if a payment for an event or donation was submitted), but we do not collect personal information for any purpose other than to respond to you. Moreover, we do not create individual profiles with the information you provide or to give it to any private organizations. The Utah Energy Conservation Coalition does not collect information for commercial marketing and does not share its donor list.

If you donate or purchase online
Protecting your donation and purchase information is a priority. The Utah Energy Conservation Coalition makes every effort to protect your online donation/order information by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.

SSL encrypts your order information to avoid the decoding of that information by anyone other than the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition. To check the security of your connection, look at the bottom of your browser window after accessing the server. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser), then the SSL is active. You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from “http” to “https.”
Links to Other Sites
Our website has links to many other companies. In a few cases we link to private organizations, with their permission. Once you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy policy of the new site.

Disclaimer
Any information posted on the Utah Energy Conservation Coalition’s website is for general information purposes only and should not be construed as engineering or legal construction advice, opinion, diagnosis, or treatment.

Changes to Privacy Policy
The Utah Energy Conservation Coalition reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without any obligation, to modify or correct any error or omissions in any portion of this web site or any other sites that are a domain owned by the Coalition. From time to time, we may use visitor information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice.

If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our site periodically.
