Increased building codes and efficiency standards have left many builders feeling like they are experimenting on their homes rather than adopting proven construction methods. Builders are invited to get a thorough understanding of the current Utah residential energy code from a local expert and learn best practices to meet rising standards from one of the top residential building experts in the country. A brief overview will be given of the incentives/rebates available from utilities for building new homes.

Building Code & Building Better Homes Seminar (3 CE Credits)

Building codes outline what we have to do when building a home, but is it all we should do? Come and learn about building best practices and how they compare to building code requirements. In this class, the Rocky Mountain Power wattsmart® New Homes Program staff will discuss residential lighting technology, framing, insulation, HVAC equipment, diagnostic testing, and overall home efficiency, along with the incentives available from utilities for building new homes.
