From our friends at Utah Clean Energy:

A bill aimed to shift Utah’s building energy code adoption cycle from every three years to six years has been fast-tracked for the Special Legislative Session. This is highly concerning because the newest building energy code, the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (2015 IECC) has not yet been adopted.  If this legislation passes in a Special Session without the new code being adopted, an estimated 60,000 new homes could be built using outdated energy wasting technologies and practices, until at least the year 2021!  At a glance, the new code includes increased attic and wall insulation, improved window efficiency values, tighter homes/reduce “air leakage” and 75% high efficiency lighting.

We need to spread the word about the benefits the new code brings to Utah!
Please share our energy code infographic through your social networks, email lists and webpages!

The below infographic highlights the financial, community and air quality benefits that come from adopting the 2015 IECC. Please help us get the word out loud and clear – Utah has everything to gain from adopting the new building energy code!
