Utah’s Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) Program is accepting applications for financial assistance to help residents pay summer cooling costs. HEAT provides year-round energy and water assistance, as well as energy and water-related crisis assistance, for eligible low-income households throughout Utah. Cooling benefits are available between April 1, 2022 – September 30, 2022.

To qualify, the household income must be at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level or about $41,625 per year for a family of four. Priority for assistance is given to households with the highest energy burden in relation to the household income while considering vulnerable individuals such as young children, individuals with disabilities, and elderly family members. Any person wishing to apply for HEAT assistance is responsible for ensuring eligibility standards have been met, and by completing and signing an application and submitting to their local HEAT Office. If applying online, the application must be signed using an electronic signature.

To apply for the HEAT Program:

  • Apply online if eligible
  • Print a HEAT Application and send it to your local HEAT Office
  • Call the HEAT Program line at 1-866-205-4357

If you need assistance applying online or emailing your HEAT Application, contact your local HEAT agency for help.
